Hailing from Des Moines, USA, Elison are a dream pop duo who have caught my attention through their cinematic new single and video, Little Lies.

The track opens in an ethereal way, with a heady mix of rock and electronic instrumentals. The driving force behind Elison is singer and songwriter Marissa Kephart and her vocals are the crown jewels of Little Lies, blending perfectly with the harmonies of Scott Yoshimura and sweeping you away into her melancholic yet seductive world.

Melissa only started writing music for the first time during the pandemic, when the extra time afforded to her gave her the opportunity to pursue a life-long dream. She wrote Little Lies with the help of a School of Song class and with the support of bandmate Scott. It really is a beautiful track, and a wonderful reminder that it’s never too late to chase your dreams.
