Boywithhalo is a Dallas, USA-based bedroom pop artist who I featured a couple of times last year. Now they’re back with a new one that expands their sound into dream pop and rock. It’s called Collide.

The track opens with an isolated bass drum beat and twangs of guitar. When the delicate vocals come in, they’re joined by a jangling guitar riff and a heavy sense of melancholia. Boywithhalo wrote the song to explore the ideas of self-exploration and identify and there is a suitable weightiness to Collide.
With their new album innerspace on its way, it’s a great time to be getting back into Boywithhalo. Fans of The XX or Radiohead will find a lot to love about Collide. You can check it out below.
