Maya Yenn is a London-based electronic pop artist who recently exploded back onto my radar through her out of this world video How Much Sadness Can You Swallow? She’s now followed it up with a new storytelling track. It’s called Better Luck Next Time.

In Better Luck Next Time, Maya invites us into the world of a young man who has chosen to prioritise his career over all else. When the protagonist’s plane starts going down, business-talk merges with human reality beautifully. The story is told against a backdrop of groovy yet dramatic electronic instrumentals which Maya cuts through with her smooth vocals.
The track is another fantastically-written and genre-bending one from an artist who is truly out here doing her own thing. I love her for it. You can check out Better Luck Next Time below.
