Said Sara, real name David Benson, is a San Francisco, USA-based folk rock singer songwriter who has caught my attention through his darkly atmospheric new track. It’s called Sea.
By Graeme Smith
Sea opens with an explosive instrumental, combining drums, acoustic guitar and harmonica, all of which are played by David. His vocals then come in, pleading and expressive, delivering poetic, storytelling lyrics. It’s all very rousing. I was initially surprised to learn that David had formerly been in a death metal band, but then it made sense, Sea has the same kind of urgent, emotional feel to that genre.
There’s not much out there like David is putting out as Said Sara and I think that’s what drew me to his sound. I hope you enjoy Sea as much as I did. You can check it out below.
