Hailing from Manchester, Nat Dempsey & The Near Strangers are an indie rock four-piece who have been performing together since last autumn. They’ve just hit our radar through their bouncy debut single. It’s called Run & Hide.
By Graeme Smith
Run & Hide is one of the those festival-ready British summer indie tracks. Lively bass meets echoing guitar and punchy percussion. Frontman Nat’s vocals are suitably laidback in the verse, bursting into life in an exciting, singalong chorus. What sets the guys apart though, are their lyrics. Fresh and poetic, they’ll stick with you.
Nat Dempsey has been writing and performing music for six years, recently forming this new group. On the evidence of this debut, they’re ones to watch. An EP is on its way for early next year. In the meantime you can check out Run & Hide below.
