Pio Hartnett is an alternative singer songwriter I first discovered for the blog at the beginning of the year through his beautiful track Roses. Jane was so taken with his sound, she went on to interview him a couple of months later. Now he’s back with a storytelling new one. It’s called Broadway.

What strikes you straight away about Broadway is the sense of poetry and narrative in its lyrics. You are instantly absorbed into the track’s story of tentative love. It’s told against a stripped-back electric guitar arrangement, with moments of harmonising and gentle percussion. As the track progresses, the instrumental layers build, with elements of R&B. By its end, you will be fully enchanted.
Broadway is another beautiful offering from this Galway, Ireland-based artist who definitely deserves some more international attention. You can give it a listen below.
