Rory J Williams is a Salisbury-based singer songwriter who I previously featured on the blog earlier this year through his track Home. Now the former Sunset Sons member is back with a new one. It’s called The Letter.
By Graeme Smith
The Letter has a sense of intimacy about it, both in its stripped-back instrumentals and its lyrics, which take the form of an audio letter. The letter speaks of family and loved ones in a startingly open way. As the track progresses, its complexity grows, with bluesy guitar licks and ambient sounds. It’s beautiful stuff.
Rory takes influence from the likes SAINt JHN, Frank Ocean and Mac Miller and fans of any of those artists will find a lot to love about The Letter. You can check it out below.
