1st Base Runner, real name Tim Husmann, has featured a couple of times on the blog now, since I discovered him through his Radiohead-esque track Near Me earlier this year. Now he’s back with a new single and video. It’s called Planter.

Planter comes with everything I’ve now come to expect from Tim’s music. Uniquely atmospheric, melancholic vocals mingle with rumbling bass, driving guitar and bright electronic notes. Yet, it also represents a departure, with live drums added and the expansiveness cranked up to the max.

The wistfully monochrome video, directed by Heather Gildroy, adds a whole new element to the track’s story. You can give it a watch below.
