Discovery: Sabrina

Sabrina is a Brighton-based electronic pop singer songwriter who has just hit my radar through her delicately inviting new track Sugar Rush.

Opening with an isolated guitar melody, Sugar Rush is the kind of track that revels in its minimalism. When Sabrina’s expressive vocals come in, as does bass and percussion, creating a wonderful soundscape into which you melt. Lyrically, she weaves a story that speaks of both the modern world and something timelessly human.

It feels as if Sabrina is on the verge of breaking through. With favourable coverage on BBC Radio and a slot at Glastonbury Festival, her name is getting out there. It’s hardly surprising with releases of this quality. You can check out Sugar Rush below.
