Forgotten Garden have been making regular appearances on our blog since we discovered them last summer. Now the Inverness-based alternative rock outfit are back with a new one that explores grief and loss in a heart-hitting way. It’s called Memoriam.
By Graeme Smith
Memoriam opens sad and melancholic, though there is also something of a driving energy in its undercurrent. It’s the lyrics that will really get to you though, beautifully emoted by frontwoman Inês Rebelo, particularly during a soaring chorus where she leaves it all out there.
Forgotten Garden are inspired by post-punk bands such as The Cure and Joy Division and fans of those artists will find a lot to love about Memoriam. You can check it out below.
