Cash I/O is a new name to us but we’ve become very familiar with another of their projects on these pages. For now, Norbert Vossiek and Moritz Meschonat have put Mflux & The Bassrangers aside for something a little more chill. Their latest track is called Wednesday Evening.

Wednesday Evening incorporates jazz, electronic and chillstep elements to create something that isn’t quite any of those things. It feels like an entirely unique sound, at once relaxing yet challenging. Its aim is to be a moment of calm in a crazy world and it certainly achieves that. While I was lost in the track, I was thinking of nothing else.

Cash I/O first formed in 1999, but took an extended break from 2005 up until last year while they worked on other projects. With a new album Sunny Moon out now, there’s plenty more to hear from them.
