Video: Garvie – Life’s Good

I’ve been following London-based alternative pop artist Garvie since the start of this year when he came to my attention through his infectious track What Did I Do. It was followed by the politically-charged What Do You Want. Now he’s back with a new one. An ironic take on the topic of fun. It’s called Life’s Good.

I’m sure we’ve all had moments in our life when we’ve tried to have fun but haven’t been able to get into the spirit of things. I know I have. Garvie has perhaps experienced it more than most – enough to pen a track about it. Superficially it is a very lively and joyous track, with a funky groove and soulful vocals. Yet, listen to its story and you’re left with something significantly more pessimistic.
