My Cousin’s Girlfriend’s House are a Philadelphia, USA-based alternative rock trio formed in 2020. Two years later, they’ve hit my radar through the upbeat and emotive new track Going.

There’s something wonderfully classic pop-punk about Going but the band manage to set themselves apart through their storytelling lyrics. They paint a rich picture that melds melancholy with catharsis, heartbreak with hope. It’s impossible to not bop your head to it, especially during its powerful chorus.

Inspired by the likes of The Wonder Years, The Front Bottoms and Red Hot Chili Peppers, fans of any of those groups will find a lot to love about Going. You can check it out below.
