Ear Candy, real name Jamie Jordan, first hit my radar back in July through his bright and breezy indie pop single Better Alone. Now he’s back with a new track that explores the idea of love as a form of convenience. It’s called lonely.

Lonely opens with a bouncy rhythm and isolated vocals, launching you straight into its emotive world. As the first verse progresses, the vibrancy of its instrumental arrangement grows into something rich and feelgood. The star of the show is definitely Jamie’s voice though – confident, passionate and compelling.

Although Jamie only started releasing music as Ear Candy this year, his sound is already showing a lot of refinement. Keep an eye on him.
