The Amber Bugs are a London and Essex based alternative rock act that first caught my attention through their delightfully inventive and catchy track and video Frankenstein Was The Monster. Now they’re back on the blog with a new one that tackles the subject of bad dreams. It’s called Spiders and Ghosts.

The track opens with a gentle, wistful electric guitar melody before expressive vocals come in. It’s intended as a lullaby and that’s certainly the impression you get during its stripped-back opening. When it hits its first chorus, though, the energy shifts into something bright and joyous. The message seems to be: don’t be scared – party!
There aren’t many rock bands out there going as deep with their music as The Amber Bugs do. They’re definitely one of the best acts on the UK underground scene right now, in my humble opinion. I hope you’ll agree. You can check out Spiders and Ghosts below.
