Alana Jagt grew up in rural Australia and it was the small towns she knew when she was young that has inspired her latest single and, indeed, her new album Goodbye Grote Bollen, released yesterday. The single reminisces about Nukunu Country in South Australia and it’s called Stirred The Dirt.

Alana brings the place to life though her moody country folk instrumental arrangement and rich and expressive vocals. There’s such an authentic sense of emotion running through the track and I was gripped by its lyrical story. There’s something to love about it for those who like classic song writing.
