Discovery: Paytron Saint

Paytron Saint are a Belper-based alternative rock band who take their cues from heavy grunge acts like Kyuss, Soundgarden and Nirvana, combining those influences with elements of indie pop. They’ve just caught my attention through their new single that attempts to escape the stress of life. It’s called Possibly Honest.

Guitarist and vocalist Nick Glyn Davies wrote the song during a trip to the coast and you get the sense of the calming influence of the rolling waves, particularly in the tracks bright opening. As things proceed into the first verse, it becomes altogether more stormy though, and there’s a sense of introspection. The vibe is then beautifully rounded out by some good old fashioned classic rock.

Possibly Honest is a wonderful introduction to a British rock band that’s worth keeping an eye on. You can give it a listen below.
