Ten Eighty Trees first hit our radar in February this year when they featured in Jane’s first Grunge Forever roundup. She was so intrigued with the Newcastle-based trio that she did a Q&A with them too. Now it’s my turn to run the rule over their new track Wear Me Down.

Ten Eighty Trees deliver rock in the vein of Thrice, Nirvana and Queens of the Stone Age. Wear Me Down has the kind of heavy yet emotive feel that fans of those bands will love. The guitars are echoing, the vocals pleading and the percussion driving. Lyrically it explores how perfection can be our worst enemy, and implores us all to take a step back. It’s a worthy message.
The track will feature on their forthcoming EP due out next year. You can give Wear Me Down a listen below.
