Brighton’s Hybrid Kid first hit my radar in March this year through their exciting alternative rock track Change Your Mind. Now they’re back with a side-step into Americana. Their latest is called Miracle.

Miracle is a sobering song to soundtrack the long winter nights. Intimately acoustic, a steady percussive rhythm meets plucked strings in the intro before mournful vocals join them. It’s a track that’s instantly atmospheric and, as it progresses, rich with relatable emotion.

Though fairly new to us, Hybrid Kid have been performing for years in various guises and have even caught the attention of BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson. It’s easy to see why they’re getting the plaudits they’re getting with songs like Miracle. You can check it out below.
