Roll on May (Misery Christmas) isn’t technically new music, having been released by London-based rock act Attendant last year. Yet, it’s new to us here at York Calling so it still counts! Attendant came to our attention in October and has been all over our pages since then. Their latest is probably the best anti-Christmas song I’ve heard in a while.

If, like me, you hate the winter months, then you’re going to find a lot to appreciate in the story of Roll On May. Attendant’s ode to a season that is better left forgotten is delivered through gloomy grunge rock, expressive vocals and a heady mix of riffs and sleigh bells. It’s a moody anthem.
