Ohio, USA rockers Detention have featured on our blog a couple of times now and Jane’s even thrown some questions their way in an interview to get to know more about them, but this is my first chance to review their music personally. Their latest track is called Faded, Not Jaded.

Detention tear up the rulebook when it comes to rock. Detuned guitars, frenetic drumming and high-energy vocals all inhabit Faded, Not Jaded, creating a sound that is as edgy as it is congruent. As a former emo kid, I found myself a little lost in nostalgia from the Detention sound. That combination of throwback and modern elements means the band really is for anyone.

Though early in their careers, Detention are getting a lot of attention stateside. Keep an eye out for the name. They could be the next big thing in emo punk.
