Lane Lines is a Seattle, USA-based “sweatercore” indie pop group who has just caught my attention with their new single that explores trauma, loss, love and mental health struggles. It’s called Like To Look Sad.
By Graeme Smith
Like To Look Sad opens in a bright and eccentric way that is instantly engaging. It develops into a dreamy and rich electronic soundscape with vocal harmonies aplenty. If you’re feeling a little off this morning, then it’s exactly the kind of warm balm you need for your ears and your soul.
Lane Lines is the project of Mandi L. Kimes who is joined by Austin Harshman and Shaun Fleming. The three share a love for Frou Frou, The Japanese House and Fleet Foxes and fans of those acts will find a lot to love about Lane Lines. Like To Look Sad is the first single release from their upcoming summer album Year of Sad. You can give the track a listen below.
