We’ve featured Northampton-based Sarpa Salpa before, but not since 2021 when Jane discovered them for us through their track Your House. Now they’re back with the first single from their upcoming debut album, set for release in the autumn. The single is called She Never Lies.

She Never Lies opens with a stripped back beat which quickly develops into a bright and danceable arrangement with heavier overtones. It’s the kind of track that gets you moving straight away but what keeps you around are the bold and emotive vocals, especially during an explosive chorus.

Since we last covered them, Sarpa Salpa have received support from BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and Clara Amfo, and have played at The Great Escape, 110 Above and SXSW over the summer. They’re definitely a band that are going places.
