London-based rock artist THORN first hit my radar last month with his equally glam and Goth single Dark Soul. Now’s he back with a new track that acts as a cathartic release of a painful memory. It’s called ASHTRAY.

ASHTRAY seethes from its first understated notes right through to its powerful bass undercurrent and its experimental, noisy form. Its anger and frustration is palpable, particularly in THORN’s characterful vocals. Genre-wise it’s a beautiful mix of punk, industrial and Avant Garde and continues to single out THORN as one of the most exciting artists out there right now.
Recorded in a garage through a mix of alcohol, guitar and broken bottles, you don’t get much more raw than ASHTRAY. You can check it out below.
