Halifax is a track by American alternative folk duo Rhineland which Jane first shared on this blog in December. I thought it was so good, it deserved another share in case anyone missed it the first time.

The song is an exploration of the feeling of moving back home to the small town you grew up in. In Rhineland’s case the small town is Halifax, Virginia. The pair capture the mood with gentle acoustic guitar and a sense of nostalgic melancholy. It’s the vocals that really stand out for me. Smooth and inviting, they had me hanging on their every word.

Halifax is the band’s first release since the spring of 2021 and it feels like a great time to be discovering them. I’m definitely looking forward to hearing more from Rhineland. I hope you’ll agree. You can check out Halifax below.
