Toronto, Canada-based indie folk artist La Faute (real name Peggy Messing) first came to my attention last month through her track and video Blue Girl Nice Day and instantly became one of my favourite discoveries. I’m pleased to say she’s back on the blog already with a new multi-layered track called Watercolours.

Watercolours is either a love story or a tale of unrequited obsession. Peggy’s poetic lyrics leave things ambiguous but its rich sense of emotion is in no doubt. A trip-hop-esque percussive groove creates a moody atmosphere while delicate vocals soothe your soul. It’s another fantastic offering from this inventive gem of an artist.
