Derby-based bedroom pop artist Sfven has featured on the blog a few times now, most recently in January through his track Little Things. Now he’s back with a new heartfelt track and video called fingers through my hair.
By Graeme Smith
Fingers through my hair is Sfven’s attempt to capture the honeymoon period of new relationship, and I think he’s done a great job of it. As always, his lyrics bring emotion to life through thoughtful imagery, and lush, slow-burning instrumentals create atmosphere in a way akin to Bon Iver.
I’m not the only one impressed by Sfven’s music. He’s been championed by the likes of BBC 6 Music’s Guy Garvey and Radio 1’s Jack Saunders. Fingers through my hair was self-produced by Sfven, and mixed by Lee Smith. You can check out its video below, and you can catch the man performing live at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds on 16 March.
