Salt Ashes, real name Veiga Sanchez, is a London-based singer songwriter who has featured once before on the blog, in the autumn of last year through her track Didn’t See It Coming. Now she’s back with a new piece of dreamy dance pop. It’s called Heart Attack.

Heart Attack is a song about longing, and that comes through strongly through its brooding instrumentals and Veiga’s expressive vocals. It’s a track of light and dark, with bass-y verses giving way to choruses that have bright electronic highlights. It would fit equally on the dance floor or in the bedroom.

It’s been a golden period for Salt Ashes since the release of Didn’t See It Coming, with the track receiving a spin from Elton John on his Rocket Hour radio show. She’s certainly one to watch.
