Nina Ross is a dream pop artist based on the Isle of Wight. She’s just hit my radar thanks to her debut single, a cover of Plastic Mermaids’ track Milk, which comes complete with a video.

Milk is about watching someone you love struggle, and Nina brings the emotion of the story to life with her expressive, spoken word-esque vocals. The lyrics are visual, visceral and volatile, and suit Nina’s style perfectly. Instrumentally, things are stripped-back with subtle, unconventional touches of jazz in among the pop sensibilities.
