Hailing from Vancouver Island, Canada, Genevieve Charbonneau is a folk singer songwriter who has just hit my radar thanks to her new single that looks for light in the darkness. It’s called Symphony of Sorrow.

Symphony of Sorrow is a breakup song, but it’s also so much more than that. It speaks of the restorative power of music, a message eloquently delivered through Genevieve’s poetic and relatable lyrics. Her delicate vocals are accompanied by a suite of strings that wonderfully elevate the emotion of the song. It’s all combines into something truly beautiful.

Genevieve lives a largely self-sufficient life on rural Vancouver Island with her three sons. Her music gives us a warming glimpse of that life. You can check out Symphony of Sorrow below.
