Mariele Jankowski is a Cologne, Germany-based acoustic folk singer songwriter who has just come to my attention thanks to her vibrant storytelling new single The Queen of Wands.

The Queen of Wands is a love story, but one with a twist as the lovers are both tarot cards. The protagonist is the queen of the same name, and her lover, the king. With a premise like that, you expect some wonderfully descriptive lyrics and that’s exactly what you get from Mariele. The Queen of Wands is a song in which you can easily get lost.

Since a young age, Mariele has had a knack for performing music and telling stories, originally picking up the traverse flute to stave of school-induced boredom.
