GOOSTAVO, real name Angus Bruce, is a lo-fi hip hop artist originally from London and currently based in Southampton. He’s just caught my attention thanks to his open and frank new track RUNAWAY.

Angus wrote RUNAWAY shortly after being diagnosed with ADHD, and the track dwells on his desire to run away from his problems. He expresses himself through a soulful and throwback instrumental arrangement which mixes live performance with samples, and his own laidback vocals. For a track about angst, it’s wonderfully smooth.

At the age of eight, Angus took up the saxophone and got hooked on jazz. He’s been producing beats since sixteen, and rapping since nineteen. I feel like we’re going to be hearing a lot more from him in future.
