Years of the Modern are a Canadian electronic pop trio who have just hit my radar thanks to their delicate and absorbing new track If Time Stood Still.

There’s a brightness to If Time Stood Still, but also a sadness. Years of the Modern like to wear their hearts on their sleeves with their music and that comes through strongly in the track, particularly from Amanda Lyn Parker’s passionate and compelling vocals.

Amanda is joined by Lauren Leprich on synths and Jay Edonel on guitar to make up the line up of Years of the Modern. Lauren and Jay first formed the band during the 2020 lockdown, later recruiting Amanda to add vocals to their instrumental tracks.
