New Music: Pedro Samp – The Fragrant Killer

London-based alternative pop artist Pedro Samp has been on my radar for over a year now, and has featured on the blog twice before. He’s just released a new track about the unexplained nature of attraction. It’s called The Fragrant Killer.

By Graeme Smith

The Fragrant Killer opens slowly and pensively, mirroring the reluctant affection in its lyrical story. When the first verse hits, a sultry groove joins in, as does Pedro’s expressive vocals. Truly innovative, Pedro is able to make music that feels both familiar yet unique and with this track he continues to impress me.

Pedro wrote and recorded the track himself, and worked with Grammy winning engineer Natalia Milanesi for the mixing and mastering. Fans of Lana Del Rey or Foals will eat The Fragrant Killer up. You can give it a listen below.
