New Music: The White Russian – Sea Song

The White Russian are an alternative folk act that first hit my radar in 2021. They returned to the blog last year thanks to their EP You Are and I’m pleased to welcome them back again with a new single. It’s called Sea Song.

Sea Song gives us more of the brooding, dark and experimental sound that we’ve grown to love from The White Russian. It opens with waves of piano before singer songwriter Joseph Giffard Tutt’s melancholic vocals come in. After the first verse, things become lively and vaudevillian, before building to a dramatic climax.

The track was produced by Fiona Cruickshank and Iain Berryman, the latter also responsible for mixing and mastering. Additional horn recording comes from Jason Wick at Goatpen Studios, Norfolk.

The White Russian are really doing something special. I can’t wait to hear more from them! You can listen to Sea Song below.
