Shana Sarett was once an opera singer but nowadays turns her hand to DJing and performing indie pop. The Los Angeles, USA-based artist has just hit my radar thanks to her new track and video Cold In LA.

With such an eclectic background, it’s no surprise that Shana’s music is wonderfully unique. Cold In LA opens with long and thoughtful synth notes before a thumping bass rhythm kicks in. As do Shana’s melancholic vocals. Perhaps what stands out most about the track, though, is its fantastically poetic and image-laden lyrics.
Cold In LA comes with a beautifully choreographed video which you can check out below. It’s a definite watch for fans of Caroline Polachek or Charli XCX.
