Vice Killer are an alternative rock four-piece based just north of us in Country Durham. They’ve just hit our radar thanks to their first single release of the year. It’s called The Red Sky.
By Graeme Smith
What stands out about The Red Sky is its guitar hook, but delve a little deeper into the track and you find thoughtful lyrics and a rich composition. Vice Killer have been able to distil the joys of rock in this track, with crowd-pleasing instrumentals and poetic, Doors-esque storytelling.
Vice Killer are Thomas Gilling on lead guitar and vocals, James Langan on lead guitar, Jack Langan on bass and Lewis Muir on drums. To record the track, the band worked with Oasis, The 1975 and Jake Bugg collaborator Al Groves in Liverpool’s Motor Museum.
