Birds Are Better, the project of Oslo, Norway-based Stian Fjelldal, first featured on this blog at the end of last year, when Jane included him in her round up of Nordic artists, and posed him a few questions in an interview. Now it’s my turn to check out his music. His latest single and video is called Seven In The Morning.
By Graeme Smith
Stian describes Seven In The Morning as a crossover between Simon & Garfunkel and A-HA and frankly I don’t think I could describe it better myself. We get the beautiful folk and vocal harmonies of the former combined with the anthemic, emotional pop of the latter to create something utterly mesmerising.
The single is taken from Birds are Better’s upcoming debut album The Island – Part One, set for release on 19 May. You can check out its animated video below.
