Wyn Doran is an American singer songwriter who has just come to my attention thanks to her “grief lullaby” that explores past traumas. It’s called hold on for another day.

Hold on for another day is full of striking and heart-breaking storytelling that are delivered through beautifully expressive vocals and gentle acoustic guitar. It’s certainly not one to cheer you up, but there’s a place for this kind of visceral acknowledgement of sadness, and it provides the listener with as much catharsis as Wyn clearly got writing it.
Despite the track’s themes, Wyn is no stranger to success. As a classically trained singer, she performed internationally when young, and received a nomination for ‘Female Performer of the Year’ for the New England Music Award. For her EP Thick of It, she was selected to work with the legendary Ben Folds.
