Berlin, Germany-based rock band The Trouble Notes have featured on this blog a couple of times before, most recently thanks to their barnstorming video Banjolorian in March. Now they’re back with a new one inspired by the Turkish psychedelic rock of the ’70s. It’s called Turkish Delight.
By Graeme Smith
Turkish Delight gives us quite a different sound to Banjolorian. It opens low and moody, led by an insatiable bassline and gentle percussion. Then, from nowhere, we are treated to a funky explosion of strings that settles into a move-inducing groove. It’s all so wonderfully sublime.
It’s clear that, as well as making music, The Trouble Notes are music lovers themselves, always looking for new inspirations. I can’t wait to hear what they do next!
You can listen to Turkish Delight below.
