Canadian singer songwriter Elina Filice first hit my radar in the summer of 2021 through her confessional EP Flight Risk. It’s been a while since we last shared some of her music, but her new song and video demanded some attention. It’s called Don’t Let Me Fall.

Don’t Let Me Fall is an emotionally-charged track that explores the themes of mental health and loving someone in a depressive decline. The instrumentals are suitably bluesy while Elina’s soulful vocals are heart-breaking. Yet, as the track hits its first chorus, a dance beat creeps in and suddenly there’s something wonderfully cathartic about it all.

The video, filmed and edited by Kim Philms at Lunar Studios Toronto, deploys choreography and visual tricks to create a feast for the eye. You can give it a watch below.
