Los Angeles, USA-based alternative R&B singer songwriter Lili Joy has just caught my attention thanks to her new love song D.W.Y.C.T.
By Graeme Smith
Lili describes D.W.Y.C.T. as a “sexy lil song” and it’s an apt description. Intimate and dreamy, its lyrics are rich with romantic details yet there is an edge to the instrumentals that stops it becoming overly sentimental. In many ways, it’s a perfect pop song.
Lili has been singing on stage since the age of six and writing songs from twelve. If you’re a fan of the American version of The Voice, you might recognise her as part of Team Blake.
D.W.Y.C.T. was produced by John Velasquez. Drums come from Aaron Steele and drum fills by Hayden Coplen. You can give the track a listen below.
