Pet Snake is the solo project of Clean Cut Kid’s Evelyn Hall. She’s featured once before on the blog through her meditative single Coffee. Now she’s back with a striking new video and song about pulling away from destructive people. It’s called Still Doing The Same.

As with Coffee, it was Evelyn’s way with words that really captured me. Still Doing The Same is full of heart-breaking turns of phrase and rich storytelling detail. Evelyn describes the writing process as healing and you can certainly feel the catharsis in its brutal honesty.

The track was produced at her home studio with her partner Mike Halls (also of Clean Cut Kid). Still Doing The Same is the lead single of Evelyn’s debut EP Bathwater. You can watch its intimate video below.
