Annette Gregory is a Worcestershire-based jazz vocalist and songwriter who has just come to my attention thanks to a new track she penned for her grandchildren to show them how much she loves them. It’s called Thinking.
By Graeme Smith
The track has a reassuring simplicity about it, but that’s not to say it’s not profound. Annette brings her love alive through descriptive lyrics and her expressive vocals while the accompanying piano switches between contemplative and lively. If you’re looking for something heart-warming to listen to today, look no further than Thinking.
Thinking features Annette on vocals and John McDonald on piano. The pair recorded the piece at Kidderminster Town Hall where Annette also runs a jazz club. You can give it a listen below.
