Cold Equations are a Nashville, USA-based pop rock band fronted by Drew Kohl, who have just caught my attention thanks to their gentle, summer-y new track Eraser.
By Graeme Smith
Eraser opens low and melancholic before building hopefully. The vocals are instantly compelling, drawn out and emotive, they’ll grab you by the heart and not let go. It’s definitely one to put on during a long, hot, lazy afternoon when you fancy getting a little deep into your thoughts.
Cold Equations are made up of Drew as frontman and songwriter, Ryan Dishen on drums and John O’Brien on bass. For the project, Drew took inspiration from the likes of Pavement, Elliot Smith and Johnny Marr, and Cold Equations have been compared to Flaming Lips and Fountains of Wayne.
You can give Eraser a listen below.
