Lotion Princess are a Boston, USA-based indie pop trio who have just hit my radar thanks to their euphoric new track Reassurance.

Reassurance opens gentle and minimal, with vulnerable vocals and delicate percussive textures. As it progresses into its chorus, it becomes soulful and ethereal before finally arriving as a sway-inducing soft rock groove.

There’s a beautiful lightness to Reassurance but its lyrical story is deep, delving into the complex themes of mental health and toxic traits that can arise. It was prompted by Lotion Princess’s singer songwriter Sasha Snoad who struggles with relational OCD, which impacts the dynamics of her close relationships.
