Cuovo, real name Josh Couvares, first hit my radar early last year but it’s been awhile since I last shared any of his music. Now the Brooklyn, USA-based rock artist is back with a ’90s throwback anthem. It’s called Why Do You Want.

Why Do You Want opens stripped-back and intimate, giving plenty of space for its storytelling lyrics. When it hits its first chorus, though, the energy rockets up with big riffs, passionate vocals, and a sense of unease. It’s a rock track for those who came of age in the ’90s, with echoes of the grunge and Britpop that defined the era.

It’s a welcome return for Cuovo to this blog, and a timely reminder of just how awesome his music is. You can check out Why Do You Want below.
