Blind Man’s Daughter are an Albuquerque, USA-based progressive metal band who have just hit my radar thanks to their new track Kyhell.
By Graeme Smith
Kyhell opens with a noodling guitar melody and dreamy electronic soundscape. It sounds quite unlike anything I’ve heard before, developing into a vibrant, punchy and dramatic metal arrangement with passionate vocals and a sense of adventure. Its image laden lyrics bring its emotion to life and there’s some beautiful use of rise and fall. It’s definitely one to blow to cobwebs away on a Monday morning.
Blind Man’s Daughter started in 2012 with founding member Ashley Wolfe. Over the past decade they’ve worked with other local musicians to bring the project to life. Their debut album is set for release on 18 August, and if Kyhell is anything to go by, it’s going to be incredible.
