SUNBIRDS the new band of Dave Hemingway, co-founder of The Beautiful South, continue their rise with the release of a brand-new single on 25th August called Make Up Your Mind – a feelgood song for the summer produced by Nigel Stonier (Fairport Convention, Paul Young, Lindisfarne).

Back in November 2020 Dave teamed up with former South colleague songwriter/guitarist Phil Barton, new discovery singer/violinist Laura Wilcockson and top session drummer Marc Parnell to release Cool To Be Kind on the independent label Nectar Records. With the arrival of multi-instrumentalist Chris Offen in 2022, the SUNBIRDS sound now embraces influences ranging from Americana, 70s pop, folk to indie rock.  

2023 will see the band continue to grow with the release of further new material combined with 30+ live dates around the UK from September to December 2023.Being experienced accomplished musicians, SUNBIRDS love to put on a show, pulling out all the stops be it performing favourites from Cool To Be Kind, showcasing brand new material or playing songs from Dave’s undeniable legacy.

Together SUNBIRDS are a band very much on the way up as their new songs and live shows testify. They perform at The Underground in Bradford on September 1st.
