Hip hop and dream pop artist Jōviky first hit my radar in June this year through his track Good Dayz. Now the Los Angeles, USA-based artist is back with a new one that’s full of heart-break. It’s called Locations.
By Graeme Smith
Locations was inspired by a relationship got awry so expect melancholia from it. In true Jōviky style, though, there’s a lot more to it than one simple notion. We get layers swirling around and intermixing. The vocals are distorted, barely there but rich with emotion. Musically its indefinable, with hip hop, lo-fi and experimental jazz in equal measure.
For the track Jōviky teamed up with London-based producer Yogic Beats. It’s another class offering from an artist who’s really got me excited by his music. You can check out Locations below.
